Droniq is helping to shape the future of medical drone logistics
On October 9, 2024, an important interim demonstration took place as part of the EULE research project, marking a milestone in the development of medical drone logistics. Under the slogan "Commissioning of the Medport prototype", this demonstration showed how drones can be used to provide medical care in remote and urban areas in the future.
The EULE project aims to make the transportation of medical goods more efficient, faster and safer. This could involve the transportation of medicines, blood samples or medical equipment, for example - all elements where time is of the essence. Drone technology offers enormous potential here to close supply gaps and bring important resources to where they are needed most urgently.
Droniq's contribution to the demonstration
As part of the interim demo, Droniq made a significant contribution to the successful testing of the Medport drone. Here are the main components that we contributed to the event:
- UTM system (Unmanned Traffic Management): Our technology ensured smooth and safe coordination of drone flight in the airspace by monitoring and analyzing air traffic in real time.
- Transponder display: For tracking the position and status of the drone throughout the flight, which forms the basis for safe operation in urban airspace.
- Flight monitoring in the BVLOS area: We enabled flight beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), a decisive factor for the safe execution of long-term drone transports.
The next step in drone logistics
The successful implementation of this demonstration shows how drone technologies can revolutionize medical logistics. With the prototype of the Medport, an important step has been taken towards realizing drone flights for medical purposes in the near future.
Droniq looks forward to continuing to play a key role in the development of these technologies and paving the way for the future of medical care through drones.
