Frankfurt Fire Department

Modernization of the drone fleet for greater safety and efficiency in use.

The Frankfurt fire department has been using drones for several years, among other things to search for people and for situational awareness. However, complex scenarios such as indoor reconnaissance were not possible until now. Operations in poor visibility also posed an increasing challenge. In order to be able to carry out its operations quickly, precisely and safely in the future, the Frankfurt fire department decided for a comprehensive modernization and expansion of its drone technology.

The goal

By modernizing its fleet of drones, the Frankfurt Fire Department wanted to significantly increase its operational significantly. The aim was to reaction speedspeed and precision in situational awareness, even under difficult visibility and environmental conditions. At the same time, the drones were to open up new areas of application, such as indoor reconnaissance of buildings. This should improve the safety of the emergency services. Another important aspect was the training of responseteams, to the new systems safely and efficiently into existing Aprocesses to integrates.

The implementation

The Frankfurt Fire Department modernized its drone fleet step by step: First, the new drones and systems were selected. These were then specifically adapted to the operational operational requirements. Then the drones were integrated into the existing operational processes, including the adaptation of operational plans and safety requirements. At the same time theoretical training and practical exercises were carried out, in which the emergency services trained in the safe use of the new technology. This structured approach made it possible the new operational drones quickly and smoothly into the daily operations of the Frankfurt fire department operations.

Our contribution

Droniq has equipped the Frankfurt Fire Department with state-of-the-art drone technology, including the DJI Matrice 400 and the DJI M4TD with H30T camera system, S1 spotlight and V1 loudspeaker. In addition, we havetheory training courses as well as practical training on site to train the emergency services optimally prepared for the new systems systems. In this way, we ensure that the combination of technology and operational practice is optimally utilized.

"Our task is to enable emergency services to make the best possible use of drone technology in an emergency," says Droniq CEO Jan-Eric Putze. This guiding principle has characterized the cooperation with the Frankfurt Fire Department from the very beginning
