Who was the Droniq Maps app developed for?
The app was developed for hobby and recreational pilots, but is also an ideal tool for safe drone flying thanks to numerous additional features such as mission planning for professional pilots.
In which countries can I use Droniq Maps?
The app was programmed exclusively for use in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Where and when is the Droniq app available? How much does it cost?
Droniq Maps has been available for iOS and Android devices since 17.09.2024. It can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
Will Droniq Maps cost money in the future?
The basic functions of the app are free and can be used without a user account. Some additional functions that we are planning for the future will be available via in-app purchases.
What happens to my old account in the Droniq app?
Unfortunately, the new app is not compatible with the old app. Therefore, the old accounts and all associated data will be deleted. It is not mandatory to create a user account in the new Droniq Maps app. If you want to manage multiple drones, we recommend creating an account.
What is the difference between Droniq Maps and the Droniq app?
Droniq Maps is the new and improved version of the Droniq app. The basic concept has remained the same, but the performance has been significantly improved and important functions that help drone pilots are now in focus. You can find more information on all functions in our user manual.

Account management
Do I need an account to use Droniq Maps?
A login is not required for the basic functions of the app. However, if you manage several drones and would like to use additional functions in the future, registration is recommended. To register, you need an operator ID, which you can apply for from the relevant aviation authority (e.g. Federal Aviation Office).
How do I create an account?
Download the app and click on the "Register" button. Follow the instructions to create your account with your e-mail address and your name (this can also be a pseudonym). Please note that you must either create or join an organization to complete the registration process. This can be done with your operator ID.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account on the "User account" page below. The user will be automatically deleted in accordance with our privacy policy.
Can I use the app on multiple devices?
Yes, you can log in to your account on any device on which the app is installed.
What happens if I forget my password?
Click on "Forgot password" on the login screen. We will send you instructions on how to reset your password by e-mail.
Functions
What are the functions of the Droniq app?
The app offers you a wide range of functions to help drone pilots plan their flights safely and efficiently:
- Drone/fleet management: Manage and register your entire drone fleet to keep track of all your devices at all times.
- Flight preparation: Plan your drone flights in Germany taking into account all relevant regulations and restrictions.
- Drone regulation: Use the integration of the current EU regulation for drone classes A1-A3 to ensure that your flights comply with the legal requirements.
- Validation against restricted areas: Have your planned missions (radius, polygon, path) automatically validated against air traffic regulations (LuftVO) to ensure that no restricted or restricted areas are affected.
- Information layer: Show or hide legally relevant map layers such as airspaces, airports and NOTAMs as required to keep all important information in view.
- Weather data: View the current local weather conditions to optimally adapt your flights to the weather conditions.
- Various background maps: Choose between standard, dark and satellite map view to customize the map view according to your needs.
How does Droniq Maps work?
Simply enter your planned flight route and the app will compare it with our constantly updated database of geo-zones. You will be notified of any potential conflicts or restrictions. Further details can be found in our user manual.

How can I add a drone that is not in your database?
You can either enter all the relevant data yourself by completing the drone creation screen, or you can send us an email to feedback@droniq.de. We will then add the drone to the database.
Will Droniq Maps be developed further?
We plan to continue development and provide new features to create a toolkit that supports drone pilots in their planned flights.
Flight validation
How often is the geo-zone database updated?
Our geozone database is updated monthly to ensure that you always have the latest information. Depending on the geo-zone type, the update rate of the source may vary.
Can I validate several flight routes at the same time?
No, currently you can only validate one flight route at a time.
What happens if my planned route conflicts with a geo-zone?
The app provides detailed information about the conflict. As the geo-zones are visible on the map, you can plan your route so that you avoid certain zones.
Technical support
The app does not work as expected. What should I do?
First, make sure that you have installed the latest version. If the problems persist, please contact our support team via the "Help" section in the app or via our contact form.
How can I give feedback or suggest new functions?
