Droniq expands its product portfolio with VTOL drones from Avy Drone Network
Frankfurt, February 19, 2026 – Droniq is expanding its product portfolio with drones from Dutch manufacturer Avy Drone Network. The new systems are designed for long-distance drone operations and are particularly suitable for surveying large areas and for official reconnaissance missions.
Drone missions over long distances are among the most complex applications of unmanned aviation. The drone operates outside the pilot's direct line of sight (in technical terms, this is referred to as "BVLOS missions" – BVLOS stands for beyond visual line of sight) and is monitored and controlled from a remote operations center. Since there is no permanent visual contact, the entire flight must be secured via a stable data connection. Position data, telemetry, and payload information are continuously transmitted so that the situation can be responded to at any time. At the same time, coordinated integration into manned air traffic is necessary.
By adding VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) drones from Dutch manufacturer Avy Drone Network to its product portfolio, Droniq is establishing a new solution for demanding applications such as surveying large areas. VTOL drones combine the vertical take-off and landing capabilities of a multicopter with the flight characteristics of a fixed-wing aircraft. Compared to classic multicopters, they are significantly more efficient and specially designed for long-distance flights.
The Avy drone has a range of up to 100 kilometers, a flight time of up to 75 minutes, and a payload of up to three kilograms. Depending on the application scenario, the system is available as a single drone or as an integrated drone-in-a-box solution that also enables automated flights.
"At Avy, we spend a lot of time thinking about what emergency responders actually need out in the field. Droniq thinks the same way. By working together, we can fill this gap for our customers instead of leaving them to figure out how to deal with it themselves," says Benjamin van der Hilst, CEO of Avy.
"By working with Avy, we can offer our customers additional high-performance drones for conducting BVLOS operations," says Thilo Vogt, Director of Sales and Business Development at Droniq GmbH. "At the same time, our TraX live air situation tool provides our customers with exactly what they need to safely implement BVLOS operations for all parties involved."
The Droniq Live Air Situation TraX displays surrounding manned and unmanned air traffic in real time—including information on flight altitude, flight direction, and speed. An integrated warning function also informs pilots when other traffic participants come too close to their own drone.

About Droniq
Droniq GmbH is a joint venture founded in 2019 by DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung (51% share) and Deutsche Telekom (49% share). Based in Frankfurt am Main, the company's mission is to promote the professional and safe use of drones by public authorities and organizations with security tasks, as well as by companies.
The core of Droniq's product offering is the Droniq Traffic Management System for Drones (UTM). The UTM shows the pilot all surrounding air traffic - manned and unmanned. Furthermore, the other air traffic participants can also see the drone if necessary. With this system, which is unique in Germany, Droniq creates the basis for using drones safely beyond visual range.
Other services offered by Droniq include the sale of drones for commercial and government use, as well as hardware and software solutions for safe operation. Furthermore, the company supports its customers in applying for operating permits and advises on mission planning. With its Drones-as-a-Service division, Droniq also carries out aerial surveys for its customers as needed and handles all related requirements.
With its Droniq Academy, located in Frankfurt and Mönchengladbach, Droniq also offers the opportunity to complete training courses and exams for remote pilots. Droniq's customers include federal and state police units, fire departments, rescue services, and companies in the chemical, logistics, construction, and security sectors.
