Drones Flash #2: What's the drone economy's take on U-Space?

Four times a year, Drones Magazine, together with DRONE Industry Insights & Droniq, conduct a survey at www.drones-magazin.de/flash to learn more about the state of the industry.

This time, the topic is "What's the Drone Economy's take on U-Space?":

Poll | Drones Flash #2: What does the drone economy think about U-Space?

From January 26, 2023, so-called U-Spaces can be established in Europe. These specially designed geo-zones were conceived to ensure safe flight operations in areas with a potentially high volume of UAS. However, U-Spaces could also be created, for example, where military airspace makes this appear sensible. Or to safely regulate cross-border drone operations. However, while politicians and authorities in particular have high expectations of this topic in order to strengthen Germany as a location for UAS, the industry has mixed feelings about what could be in store for it. Increased safety in flight operations is one thing. More effort and higher costs are something else.

Take part in the survey now! We look forward to your participation!

DRONIQlive:
How drones and AI are helping farmers to identify species in grassland

From mid-March to the end of May, farmers can earn money quickly and easily. The reason for this is Organic Regulation 5, which has been in force since 2023. Farmers who provide evidence of indicator species on their green spaces receive a subsidy.

What is time-consuming by hand is child's play and fast thanks to the drone and AI: the drone flies over the green space in just a few minutes. The collected data is evaluated for possible indicator species using AI-based software. The farmer receives the result a few hours later and can apply for the subsidy.

In our next webinar on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 7 p.m., we will take a closer look at this process.
