Project: 5G. City. Country. Save lives

Today we are presenting the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport funded project "5G: City. Land. Save lives":

The focus of the project is to improve the rescue chain with the help of the new 5G mobile communications technology. From emergency calls to first aid to the work of the emergency services. The potential users are the citizens who benefit from a more effective rescue operation. More effective means more targeted and faster. After all, the alarmed emergency services also benefit from improved information provision.

Droniq was developed by the Fraunhofer IAO: Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organization and supports the project with soft- & hardware solutions to display on the one hand the visibility of the deployed drones by means of transponder technology for manned aviation. On the other hand, a combined live air situation display is generated in order to be able to monitor and control both manned and unmanned air traffic. In addition, Droniq makes a major contribution by providing consulting services such as operational concepts (ConOps) and risk analyses (SORA) in order to get the project or operations using drones approved by the state aviation authorities.
