The Droniq Academy is an examination center (DE.PStF.035) designated by the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA) for the acquisition and renewal of remote pilot certificates in accordance with EU regulations. With our e-learning refresher training, you can extend your existing STS certificate easily, legally compliant and without an additional examination - for a further 5 years.

Why STS refresher training?

In accordance with EU Implementing Regulation 2019/947, the STS remote pilot certificate is valid for 5 years. Within this period, it can be extended as part of a so-called "revalidation" - without a new examination.

However, if the validity period is exceeded, a complete "renewal" with a new examination is required. With our STS refresher training, you can extend your certificate in good time and without stress.

This is how it works:

Flight safety (administrative principles, principles of the open operating category, etc.)
Operating procedures (flight preparation, monitoring andfollow-up)
Geographical areas (airspace bases taking into account the geozones)
Meteorology (e.g. introduction, weather influences, wind, temperature, visibility, air density, weather forecasts)
UAS flight performance (including typical operating ranges, mass, balance, center of gravity, influence of payloads, securing the payload, knowledge of how batteries work, avoidance of unsafe conditions)
Technical and operational mitigation of risks on the on the ground and in the air

Prerequisite

Valid EU Remote Pilot Certificate (STS)

Important: An extension is only possible within the validity period of your current STS certificate. After that, a new examination is required.

Scope of delivery

After successfully placing your order, you will receive an email with access to the refresher training course for renewing your STS-01 and STS-02 remote pilot certificate (online training) from the Droniq Academy. The training course takes approximately 8-10 hours to complete. From the date of purchase, you will have access to the STS refresher course until the license expiry date. Please note that the refresher training can only be completed with a valid STS remote pilot license. If your license has already expired, you will need to retake the complete STS theory training course and subsequent exam.

Note:
The issuance, renewal, and modification of certificates are subject to fees. The LBA charges a fee of EUR 15.00 for the renewal of an STS remote pilot certificate for the open category (source: LBA).
