More range for mission drones - the DJI dongle makes it possible

Mission drones at the limit: why range is crucial for BOS

The drone has long been an indispensable tool for many emergency services - from the fire department to the police and rescue services. They provide rapid situational awareness, support decision-making and even help to save lives in an emergency. However, despite their strengths, drones often come up against a natural limit during operations: the range of their radio connection.

With the DJI dongle, a solution is now available that effectively removes this limit - and makes drone missions significantly more flexible, safer and more efficient.

Why BOS drones are reaching their range limits

Drones normally communicate with the remote control via a direct radio link.

The challenge:

  • Buildings, vegetation or terrain can weaken the signal

  • Large application areas can only be covered to a limited extent

  • Distances of several hundred meters pose problems for the connection

An uninterrupted connection is particularly crucial for BOS operations, which often take place in dynamic, large areas or areas that are difficult to access.

The solution: The DJI dongle for 4G connectivity

The DJI dongle connects DJI drones directly to the 4G network - and thus enables a stable connection over almost any distance.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Virtually unlimited range
The drone is no longer limited by the radio connection - it uses the 4G network for control and data transmission.
  • Stable connection, even in difficult environments
Whether urban, extensive or confusing: 4G ensures reliable data transmission.
  • Simple installation in just a few minutes
One dongle is inserted into the drone, another into the remote control. If the pilot has WLAN at the location, one dongle in the drone is sufficient.
  • Also suitable for the DJI Dock
This makes automatic drone management even more powerful and weather-independent.
  • Automatic switch to the 4G network
If the connection changes during the flight, the system takes over automatically - without any intervention by the pilot.

More manpower for BOS - thanks to 4G

The DJI dongle gives BOS forces significantly more flexibility, safety and range in operations. Whether for investigating damage situations, searching for missing persons, traffic monitoring or for real-time aerial images: The 4G connection enables drone operations where they were previously not possible - and thus creates a valuable operational advantage.
