DRONES IN BOS USE
When a person is reported missing who is either very old or very young and therefore helpless, every minute counts for the emergency services. In most cases, a police or rescue helicopter supports the emergency forces on the ground and provides them with valuable information from the air. Often, however, a helicopter is not always ready for action or is called to other emergencies.
That's why police, fire departments and other aid organizations are increasingly using drones as part of their operations. They are small, maneuverable and can scan large areas quickly and efficiently.

HOW OUR
UAS TECHNOLOGY
BOS UNITS
CAN SUPPORT
Together with the DLRG Horneburg, we tested the use of a drone on the Elbe island Hanskalbsand. Equipped with a thermal imaging camera, the drone searched the shore area, which was difficult to see, for a missing child.
To make flights even safer, we recommend a small tracking module: this can be used to determine the exact position of the drone. Also in use was a traffic management system from Droniq, with which the drone pilot of the DLRG drone always had an up-to-date picture of manned air traffic in the vicinity.
Voices on the use of drones within BOS
The good news is that BOS have recognized drones as an efficient operational tool and are using them in a highly professional manner. Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement in this area. With increasing out-of-sight missions, drones will be able to provide support in even more areas. Currently, this application is still considered isolated, but I am sure that this picture will change in the coming years. The technology to carry out such flights safely for all involved is available and has already proven itself.

CEO of Droniq GmbH
When we are called out, human lives are often at stake. Every minute counts! Drones help us to deploy personnel and large-scale equipment much more efficiently. As an incident commander, I can use Droniq's aerial situation display to ensure safe flight operations under the toughest conditions, even during large-scale operations and parallel use of helicopters.

USE CASE
FIREFIGHTING
In a use case, the Dortmund Fire Department tested the use of drones, which fly ahead of the emergency forces and send information to the incident commander via mobile radio while they are still approaching the scene. r

As promising as the use of drones is, however, safe and legally compliant use is often challenging. As Droniq, it is our task to integrate drones safely and professionally into the airspace.
We will be happy to advise you on all matters relating to drone use for your emergency and rescue forces.
