Cleaned up #3: Nature conservation? Yes, please! But with sense and reason, please!

weggeputzt #3 - Nature conservation? Yes, please!

Excluding drones from nature conservation is useless!

Today our CEO Jan Eric Putze explains, why he believes that the topics 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗰𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘇 do not currently fit together and why he believes that the current air law urgently needs to be amended:

weggeputzt #3 - Nature conservation? Yes, please!

The fact that drone missions for hobby and leisure activities are not permitted in nature reserves is undoubtedly CORRECT!

However, the fact that commercial drone use is also not permitted here is WRONG for me !

We are talking about commercial drone use associated with added value!

Added value from which nature conservation can also PROFIT!

One example here is the use of drones in the context of FORESTRY AND AGRICULTURE.

Here, drones HELP with fawn rescue and pest detection, among other things.

The fact that drones are still not allowed to fly in nature reserves: NOT UNDERSTANDABLE!

That it sometimes takes expensive expert opinions to be allowed to fly after all: NOT ECONOMICAL!

And that manned air traffic is treated completely differently here: NOT LOGICAL!

Helicopters, for example, are allowed to fly here - even at LOW ALTITUDE!

The PLATZRUNDE at Blumberg airfield, for example, is located directly above a nature reserve...

With this UNEQUAL TREATMENT, nature conservation is harming our industry - and itself!

Because what is certainly WELL MEANT (protection of nature) is currently not being implemented well!

Completely excluding the drone when it comes to nature conservation does NOTHING!

What is needed is EQUAL TREATMENT!

Unmanned aviation needs the same RIGHTS as its manned counterpart!

This is associated with an ADAPTATION of the applicable aviation law.

Drone missions in nature conservation areas should be permitted if they serve nature conservation !

Commercial drone operations in nature conservation areas must be DIFFERENTIATED:

Pure overflights, such as pipeline inspections, are UNCRITICAL for me.

Take-off or landing in a nature reserve must be assessed CASUALLY!

If this adaptation is successful, nature conservation and drones can STRENGTHEN each other !

Then something great will emerge!

The drone market in 2025/2026: Much progress has been made, but key questions remain unanswered. In the next edition of the DRONIQlive webinar, we will take a clear look at the developments of the past year, existing areas for improvement, and the outlook for 2026.

Moderator Alexander Tummes discusses this with Carsten Konzock (LBA), Jan Schönberg (Drones), and Jan-Eric Putze (Droniq).
