The microTether system developed by ValoFly is a compact tether ground station for wired operation of small to medium-sized drones. The cable is not installed in the system and can therefore be carried as a loose cable in a case or on a cable reel. The cable can be easily replaced for maintenance and inspection purposes.

The TGS microTether system was specially developed for permanent airspace surveillance, infrastructure maintenance, setting up temporary communication routes, monitoring industrial sites, critical infrastructure and more. This means that drone missions requiring longer flight times can be carried out without interruption.

Intended use

ValoFly Tether.Solutions systems are revolutionizing the possible uses of civilian UAVs by enabling them to achieve longer mission durations and flight times regardless of their battery charge. Special tasks, such as infrastructure maintenance, setting up temporary communication routes or monitoring facilities, can be carried out by drone without interruption using a Tether.Solutions system.

The TGS microTether system impresses with its compact design and easy handling. The 12-liter transport case, which can be stacked when closed, is waterproof to IP67 and ensures safe transport and storage. The tether cable is supplied separately and can be conveniently stowed in a compartment in the lid of the microTether or alternatively rolled up on a cable reel.

Product Features

  • Constant flight altitude

    Thanks to the tether cable, the drone can be constantly supplied with power and fly at a constant altitude of up to 80 m, allowing it to observe the airspace from a bird's eye view. Depending on the drone model, the tether cable can have a length of 5 to 80 m. With the DJI Matrice M350 RTK, for example, continuous operation at an altitude of 40 m can be ensured.

  • Weather resistant

    Thanks to its IP67 water resistance, the TGS microTether is weather-resistant and can be used reliably in various environmental conditions.

  • Tensile strength

    Depending on the connecting cable, the TGS microTether CIV system has a tensile strength of 400 N (TCL2) or 560 N (TC2).

  • Compatible with many drones

    The TGS microTether CIV developed by ValoFly is compatible with the following 4S and 6S UAVs, among others: DJI Mavic 2/Matrice M300/M350 RTK, Grabbit G7 & Kite75 from Vectorbirds and M-UAV from Copting.
