Press release: Cloud-based solution with live streaming and extended functions

Partnership between Droniq and FlytBase

Frankfurt, 11.09.2024 - Droniq is entering into a partnership with the US-based autonomous software platform FlytBase. The partnership will enable Droniq to provide industry and BOS (public safety authorities and organizations) customers with cloud-based control software for DJI drones. The control software is particularly suitable for operating the DJI Dock.

FlytBase's control software enables real-time video streaming, among other things, which can be seamlessly integrated into existing video management software. The images or recordings generated by the drone are therefore immediately available. Possible application scenarios include the monitoring of major events, inspections of critical infrastructure or emergency operations by drone.

"There are application scenarios where all visual situations need to be bundled together immediately," says Droniq CEO Jan-Eric Putze. "By partnering with FlytBase, we are meeting precisely this need for our customers. Of course, this solution is also part of our Drones-as-a-Service offering, where we also fly for our customers if required."

Applications and added value for BOS and industrial customers

In addition to live streaming, the FlytBase software offers a range of other functions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems. One of these is the option for automated alerting. One example of this is the monitoring of fences: in the event of a security incident, such as an intrusion into a protected area, the drone can automatically fly to the affected area to immediately provide live images and monitor the situation.

In addition, the software supports precise mission planning, allowing drone flights to be adapted flexibly and in real time. The secure transmission of video data is guaranteed by the use of modern encryption technologies. In addition to a cloud-based solution, FlytBase also offers the option of hosting the software on the customer's own instance (on-premise).

Nitin Gupta, CEO and founder of FlytBase, says: "We are excited to partner with Droniq to enable fully automated, safe and efficient drone operations for industrial and BOS customers. With FlytBase, companies will be able to respond faster to emergencies, streamline their operations and maintain the highest standards of operational safety and efficiency. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to advancing the use of drone technology for critical applications."

Expansion of the customer offering

Through the partnership with FlytBase, Droniq now offers an enhanced solution that enables additional control and efficiency benefits for BOS operations. The integration of FlytBase control software into existing Droniq technology helps customers to manage their drone operations more effectively and respond flexibly to different operational situations.

About Droniq GmbH

Droniq GmbH is a joint venture founded in 2019 by DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung (51% share) and Deutsche Telekom (49% share). Based in Frankfurt am Main, the company's mission is to promote the professional and safe use of drones by public authorities and organizations with security tasks, as well as by companies.

The core of Droniq's product offering is the Droniq Traffic Management System for Drones (UTM). The UTM shows the pilot all surrounding air traffic - manned and unmanned. Furthermore, the other air traffic participants can also see the drone if necessary. With this system, which is unique in Germany, Droniq creates the basis for using drones safely beyond visual range.

Other services offered by Droniq include the sale of drones for commercial and government drone use, as well as hardware and software solutions for safe operation. It also supports its customers in applying for operating permits and advises on mission planning. With its Droniq Academy, which has offices in Frankfurt and Mönchengladbach, among other cities, the company also offers training and exams for remote pilots. Droniq's customers include federal and state police units as well as fire departments, rescue forces and companies from the chemical, logistics, construction and security sectors.
