Droniq Academy trains Kiel fire department

Kiel fire department expands its expertise

More and more fire departments are relying on the use of modern drone technology in order to be able to act faster, more safely and more effectively in critical situations. Kiel's professional fire department is also expanding its expertise in this area - with the support of Droniq.

On-site training at the control center

A total of ten emergency personnel from Kiel's professional fire department received comprehensive training from Droniq - directly at their location, the Integrated Regional Control Center (IRLS Kiel). The training included theoretical training and testing for the A2 remote pilot certificate as well as practical training with various operational scenarios.

Preparation for the exam took place via the Droniq Academy's e-learning program, which enables flexible and practice-oriented preparation. The exams were then taken by Droniq trainer Torben Clausen on site in Kiel.

Practical and future-oriented

After the theory, it was straight into the application: The firefighters were trained in the practical use of their newly acquired drone technology - including systems such as the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal. This is ideal for firefighting situations in which thermal imaging data offers a decisive information advantage - for example when searching for people, detecting fires or assessing situations.

Presentation Flytbase

A particular highlight of the training was the introduction to the FlytBase software. Among other things, this enables live video streaming from the drone directly into existing video management systems. This means that situational images can be shared in real time with the incident command or other authorities - a valuable support in the event of major incidents, damage situations or the monitoring of critical infrastructure.

Technology & training from a single source

In addition to the training, Droniq provided the Kiel fire department with a comprehensive hardware package. In addition to the technical equipment, Droniq also advised on the legally compliant integration of drones into BOS operations.

"With the Kiel professional fire department, we were once again able to show what a well thought-out drone introduction in the BOS area can look like: practical, targeted and with a focus on the reality of operations," says Droniq trainer Torben Clausen.
