Drone project in Brandenburg: a look at the future of air traffic

Upgrading the Cottbus/Neuhausen airfield (EDAP) - concept for drone operations beyond visual range

An innovative drone project at Cottbus/Neuhausen Airport

If you want to see an exciting project in the drone market in the next few months, you should look to Brandenburg. An ambitious project is being planned at Cottbus/Neuhausen Airport: the use of drones on the airport site.

The first step: creating an operating concept

The first step in this project is the creation of an operating concept. Droniq is responsible for developing this concept. The aim is to enable the airport to operate a drone weighing up to 100 kilograms within a radius of 10 kilometers. And not just once, but during regular operations and, of course, safely at all times.

A pioneer in drone operation

With the implementation of this concept, Cottbus/Neuhausen Airport would be the first of its kind to realize such a drone operation. This represents a significant step in the commercial use of drones in Germany.

We are enthusiastic about this project and are pleased that it will further advance and establish the commercial use of drones in Germany.

Thanks to our partners

Special thanks go to Torsten Schwieg for the trust he has placed in us and to Thomas Ernstberger from AEF - Autonom Elektrisch Fliegen, with whom we are implementing this project. We look forward to working with them!
