The goal
The goal of the drone training was to prepare Telekom Security’s response teams for the safe and efficient use of drones in security-critical situations. As part of the collaboration, a total of approximately 60 participants were trained at several locations in Germany—including Leipzig, Glashütten, Bremen, and Göppingen. The goal was to build a scalable level of expertise and specifically equip the teams for use in disaster response. In addition to regulatory fundamentals, the training focused in particular on flight planning, the safe execution of missions, and the application of drone technology in realistic scenarios. Participants were trained to use drones specifically for reconnaissance, situation assessment, and mission coordination, thereby supporting well-informed decision-making during operations.
The implementation
The program began with a three-day training course at the Kulmbach site, where theoretical content and practical flight training were closely integrated. An introduction to regulatory requirements was followed by hands-on training with drones such as the DJI M30T and M3T. The program concluded with the successful completion of the A2 remote pilot certificate exam.
