Telekom Security

Telekom Security's disaster control unit is trained for professional drone use.

Drones are playing an increasingly important role in the security industry. In future, Telekom Security will also be relying on state-of-the-art drone technology in its "Disaster Protection" division. In a 3-day training course, the emergency services were trained in the professional use of drones in order to be optimally prepared for deployment in crisis situations.

Goal
Use of drones in safety-critical situations

The goal

The aim of the drone training course was to prepare Telekom Security's emergency services for the safe and efficient use of drones in security-critical situations. This included imparting comprehensive knowledge of regulatory principles, flight planning and the control of drones in demanding operational environments. There was a particular focus on the practical application of drone technology for reconnaissance, situation assessment and mission coordination in realistic scenarios. The training enabled the participants to use drones as a valuable operational tool for security tasks in crisis situations and hazardous situations in order to be able to make quick and well-founded decisions.

The implementation

Both theoretical and practical content was taught during the three-day training course in Kulmbach. A briefing on the regulatory requirements was followed by practical training with drone models such as the DJI M30T and M3T. At the end of the training, the A2 remote pilot certificate exam was successfully passed.

Our contribution

Droniq supported Telekom Security with a customized training course. In addition to the theory unit and the exam, the focus was on practical scenarios that were specially tailored to the requirements of BOS forces. The training was divided into the following modules:

  1. Theory training: At the beginning of the training, our instructors explained all the regulatory requirements for the safe use of drones. The participants prepared intensively for the A2 remote pilot certificate exam, which they successfully passed at the end of the course.
  2. Practical training: The practical training focused on getting to know different types of drones such as the DJI M30T and M3T. Our instructors explained how to handle the drones and prepared the participants for various deployment scenarios. Flight simulations were the highlight, during which the newly acquired knowledge was applied directly.
  3. Technology highlight: A particular highlight was the presentation of the DJI FlyCart, which generated a lot of enthusiasm among the participants. It offers innovative possibilities for transportation and shows how versatile drone technology can be.

Easier & faster entry into regular operation with the LUC

The "Light UAS Operator Certificate" (LUC) is a certificate valid throughout Europe for organizations that use drones in this special category. It allows more autonomy, for example in the approval of flying areas - without additional official procedures. This saves time & creates operational flexibility.

In our DRONIQlive webinar, experts from the LBA, Droniq & from the field will explain for whom the LUC is worthwhile and how it facilitates regular operations. We look forward to your participation on 29.04.2025 at 7 pm!
