Droniq at the EASA Innovative Air Mobility Implementation Forum

Setting the course for the future of drone mobility

Last week, the EASA Innovative Air Mobility Forum took place in Cologne, an important event on the future of air mobility, organized by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in cooperation with the leading European drone industry associations. For Droniq and our CEO Jan-Eric Putze, the forum was a special opportunity to actively participate in the discussions on the further development of unmanned aviation technologies and their integration into European airspace.

Jan-Eric Putze took on two roles at the forum: firstly, he represented Droniq as a leading provider of UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) solutions, and secondly, he served as President of the Alliance for New Mobility Europe (AME). The AME is strongly committed to promoting new mobility concepts in Europe, particularly in the field of unmanned aviation. Through his dual role, Jan-Eric contributed significantly to building bridges between the needs of the industry and regulatory developments.

Focus on BVLOS and U-Space implementation

Discussions focused on topics such as BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations and U-Space implementation, which should enable the safe and coordinated use of drones in urban airspaces. These topics are becoming increasingly important, as drones are being used more and more frequently not only in the commercial and industrial sectors, but also in public safety. The exchange between industry representatives and decision-makers was essential in order to jointly develop solutions that create the basis for the widespread use of drone technology in Europe.

Panel discussion "Enabling VLL Operations Far from Airports"

One highlight of the forum was the panel discussion on "Enabling VLL (Very Low Level) Operations Far from Airports". In addition to Jan-Eric Putze, Tatiana Maillard from Thales Aerospace, Larissa Haas from the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) and Kevin Houston from Manna Drone Delivery also took part. The discussion was moderated by Stéphane Vaubourg. The exchange focused on how drone operations in rural and peri-urban areas can be enabled safely and efficiently. U-space integration plays a key role in ensuring reliable traffic management for drones in low airspaces.

A high-caliber and well-attended forum

With 250 participants on site and over 800 interested parties connected, the forum reflected the immense interest in the industry. Numerous guests followed the sessions and discussions to learn more about the latest developments and challenges in the field of air mobility. The event clearly showed that Europe is well on the way to sustainably promoting and advancing innovative mobility concepts such as drone technology.

Droniq as a pioneer of safe air mobility

As a pioneer in UTM solutions, Droniq's participation in the EASA Innovative Air Mobility Forum was an important platform not only to contribute expertise and experience, but also to learn from other industry leaders. Our vision remains to design a safe, scalable and reliable air transportation infrastructure for drones and unmanned systems. We look forward to actively shaping this future together with partners, industry and regulators.
