Real-time air situation awareness for better situational awareness in operations centers and during large-scale incidents
Frankfurt, 11June06, 2026 – The Droniq GmbH will make its live air situation awareness system available to the Rhineland-Palatinate Police in the future. The live air situation supports public safety authorities and organizations (BOS) in coordinating major events, among other things.
Droniq’s air traffic information is based on a nationwide sensor network. The sensors detect the identification signals transmitted by manned and unmanned aircraft, such as FLARM or ADS-B. Droniq makes the collected information available to its customers in the form of a live air traffic picture. The air situation display shows users manned and unmanned air traffic in real time—including altitude, speed, and direction data.
The Rhineland-Palatinate Police receives the aerial situational awareness data provided by Droniq as a data stream. Droniq uses a proprietary interface to transmit this aerial situational awareness data to its customers via a data stream. This allows law enforcement agencies and organizations with security responsibilities to integrate the live aerial situational awareness directly into their operations control center applications and command and control systems. This provides operations centers with a real-time overview of air traffic in the operational area at all times. In addition to the Rhineland-Palatinate Police, Eurocommand, a provider of the command and control software “CommandX,” and Eifert Systems, a manufacturer of the operations management software “edp:,” also use the Droniq interface. Both have already integrated the interface into their systems.
“The integrated use of our live air situation data is an important step toward helping police units coordinate air traffic in low-altitude airspace,” says Droniq CEO Jan-Eric Putze.

About Droniq
Droniq GmbH is a joint venture founded in 2019 by DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung (51% share) and Deutsche Telekom (49% share). Based in Frankfurt am Main, the company's mission is to promote the professional and safe use of drones by public authorities and organizations with security tasks, as well as by companies.
The core of Droniq's product offering is the Droniq Traffic Management System for Drones (UTM). The UTM shows the pilot all surrounding air traffic - manned and unmanned. Furthermore, the other air traffic participants can also see the drone if necessary. With this system, which is unique in Germany, Droniq creates the basis for using drones safely beyond visual range.
Other services offered by Droniq include the sale of drones for commercial and government use, as well as hardware and software solutions for safe operation. Furthermore, the company supports its customers in applying for operating permits and advises on mission planning. With its Drones-as-a-Service division, Droniq also carries out aerial surveys for its customers as needed and handles all related requirements.
With its Droniq Academy, located in Frankfurt and Mönchengladbach, Droniq also offers the opportunity to complete training courses and exams for remote pilots. Droniq's customers include federal and state police units, fire departments, rescue services, and companies in the chemical, logistics, construction, and security sectors.
