Newspaper delivery by drone

Together with Aro Drone Services, we dared to take a look into the future in the district of Düren (North Rhine-Westphalia). In a pilot project, Cologne-based Heinen-Verlag(Kölnische Rundschau) tested newspaper delivery by drone in cooperation with Medienhaus Aachen.

Such deliveries are particularly interesting for rural areas with isolated buildings where delivery is expensive due to the distance - or where, in the worst case, no newspaper carrier can be found at all.

As Droniq, we ensured that the drone used for this project could fly safely. For this purpose, we equipped it with a HOD4track from us. This enabled the drone pilot to see his own position and the surrounding manned and unmanned air traffic during the mission with the help of the TrackViewer:

After all, only if the drone can be used safely can such innovative applications become established in the future.
