Kleve district has employees trained as drone pilots
On June 6 and July 4, 2024, a total of five exam participants from the Kleve district successfully passed the A2 remote pilot certificate exam at Mönchengladbach Airport. We would like to congratulate Jan von Hoegen, Stefan Bodden, Björn Brügmann, Michael Welbers and Björn Christian Unger on their success!
What is the Remote Pilot Certificate A2?
The A2 remote pilot certificate is an important step for all drone pilots who want to raise their skills and knowledge to a professional level. With this certificate, pilots are authorized to operate drones in the open operating category - subcategory A2. This offers them more freedom and application possibilities, e.g. a C2 drone can be flown up to 5 meters from people in slow flight mode. In sub-category A3, a distance of 150 meters would otherwise have to be maintained. The exam covers both theoretical and practical aspects and ensures that pilots are able to control drones safely and responsibly.
The test at Mönchengladbach Airport
The exam took place under the guidance of our experienced examiner David Osten. Our successful graduates, from left to right: Björn Brügmann, Michael Welbers and Björn Christian Unger, have optimally prepared for the drone license exam with our online training. The online training has paid off and they are now ready to put their new skills into practice.
Why is the A2 remote pilot certificate so important?
With the A2 remote pilot certificate, pilots are able to carry out more demanding and versatile drone missions. This opens up new possibilities in various areas such as inspections, mapping, surveillance and much more. The extended training ensures that pilots are not only technically proficient, but also familiar with the applicable regulations and safety requirements.
