DRONIQlive: How drones and AI are helping farmers to identify species in grassland

From mid-March to the end of May, farmers can earn money quickly and easily. The reason for this is Organic Regulation 5, which has been in force since 2023. Farmers who provide evidence of indicator species on their green spaces receive a subsidy.

What is time-consuming to do manually is child's play thanks to drones and AI - and fast too: the drone flies over the green space in just a few minutes. The collected data is evaluated for possible indicator species using AI-based software. The farmer receives the results a few hours later and can apply for the subsidy.

In our next webinar, we will take a closer look at this process and also discuss why the identification of indicator species is relevant in the first place.

Our presenter Phil Stephan welcomes the following guests:

  • Brian Rawson (Sumi Agro)
  • Dr. Randolph Kricke (City of Duisburg)
  • Alexander Wulf, Operations Specialist at Droniq
