Another successful training session is behind us! Last week, we were once again guests of the Altena fire department to train some of the firefighters to become certified drone pilots. Once again, it wasn't just theoretical instruction, but of course we didn't neglect the practical part!
Challenges during the practical exercise
The weather played a role, and an important one at that! Hail and other capricious weather surprised us during the practical exercises. But we didn't let that stop us! Our colleagues Alexander Wulf and Nicolas Koch geared the practical part specifically towards typical drone operations at fire departments and challenged the participants in various scenarios.
From searching for missing persons to coordinating operations
The practical exercises covered various mission scenarios, including the search for missing persons and the coordination of mission teams. Realistic scenarios enabled the participants to gain valuable experience and improve their skills as drone pilots.
At the same time, we also demonstrated the DJI Dock 2, which is of interest to the Märkischer Kreis. This could be integrated into the preliminary reconnaissance, as it could be used to monitor a large area.
