AMIUS project: Annual review meeting

Droniq at the annual review meeting of the AMIUS project

On July 17, 2024, we from Droniq took part in the annual review meeting of the AMIUS project, which took place at the Drone Center of Airbus Defense and Space in Manching. This project is part of the Air Mobility Initiative (AMI), which is funded by the Free State of Bavaria and the Federal Republic of Germany and initiates a number of research projects.

AMIUS: An overview

The AMIUS project aims to develop innovative solutions for air mobility and put them into practice. By participating in this project, we are actively contributing to the further development of safe and efficient technologies that are essential for the integration of unmanned aerial systems into airspace.

Progress and innovations

During the meeting, the project partners had the opportunity to present the progress made over the last 12 months to the project sponsor. For Droniq, the focus was on the presentation of our newly developed UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) system, which is being used as part of the AMIUS project. This system is designed to improve the safe integration and management of drones in urban airspace.

Live demonstrations and practical applications

A particular highlight of the meeting were the live demonstration flights, during which our colleague Florian Kleinig showed the various functionalities of our UTM system in action. These demonstrations highlighted the practical applications and benefits that our system offers and demonstrated its ability to efficiently support complex airspace operations.

Future prospects for urban air mobility

The developments within the AMIUS project underline the significant progress being made in urban air mobility and the important steps being taken to safely integrate drones into regular flight operations. We are delighted to be part of this innovative initiative and look forward to further refining and implementing our findings and solutions.
