DRONIQlive: Can automation simplify the risk assessment (SORA) for drone use?

Drone flights sometimes present a hurdle for companies. This is because an operating license is often required to carry out flights. An essential component of this is the risk assessment (SORA). However, preparing this is time-consuming and requires a lot of time and expertise - both from those who prepare it and from those who review it.

One approach to speeding up the approval process is the AuRa project funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs (BMDV). As part of the project, which ran from August 22 to June 23, Droniq GmbH teamed up with the Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems IVI to investigate what is needed to automate the risk assessment process.

On 23.11.2023 at 7 pm, we will take a closer look at the AuRa project and its results in the 20th episode of our DRONIQlive webinar series. At the same time, we will talk to our experts about the relevance of risk assessments for approval authorities and where the potential of automation lies here.

Our presenter Phil Stephan welcomes the following guests:

  • Susanne Günther (Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems IVI)
  • Florian Vogt (Bremen Aviation Authority)
  • Alexander Tummes (Droniq)
