Symposium for UAV
Last week, our colleague Torben Claaßen was at UAV TACTICA in Hamburg, one of the leading international conferences for UAV tactics. This event brings together experts and decision-makers from the fields of BOS (authorities and organizations with security tasks), security and unmanned aviation to discuss current developments, challenges and possible applications of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).
Our colleague had the opportunity to attend specialist presentations and talk to industry colleagues about innovative technologies and forward-looking concepts. Two topics stood out in particular, which impressively illustrate the enormous potential of UAVs.
Highlights of the event
1. networking of emergency services
A central focus of the conference was the question of how drones can improve cooperation and coordination between different emergency services. UAVs offer valuable support, particularly in complex deployment scenarios such as natural disasters or large-scale security operations:
Real-time data: Drones deliver high-resolution images and videos in real time, making it easier to assess the situation on site.
Optimized communication: The connection between drones and ground stations enables seamless transfer of information to different units.
Safety: Precise documentation and analysis allow risks to be better assessed and the safety of the emergency services to be increased.
2. possibilities of robotics
Another exciting topic was the combination of drones with walking robots, which opens up completely new fields of application:
Challenging terrain: In areas that are difficult to access, drones and ground robots can operate together, for example to search for missing persons or investigate damage situations.
Rescue missions: Walking robots, equipped with cameras and sensors, can handle even the most difficult missions in combination with UAVs. The drones perform aerial reconnaissance, while the robots operate precisely on site.
Synergy effects: The combination of air and ground robotics significantly increases the efficiency and effectiveness of missions.
Our findings and outlook
UAV TACTICA has once again shown that the integration of drones into operational processes holds enormous potential. In particular, the further development of networking technologies and the synergies between robotics and UAVs are groundbreaking for the future of unmanned aviation.
