Drone power for Hausham mountain rescue service

Innovative drone technology for the Miesbach mountain rescue service

The Hausham mountain rescue service (Miesbach district) has a clear mission: to help people in emergency situations - often under extreme conditions and in difficult-to-access alpine terrain. The organization is now relying on state-of-the-art drone technology from Droniq to do an even better job of this demanding task. In a joint collaboration, the mountain rescue service was equipped with a specially tailored drone package and received comprehensive training.

The equipment: precision and versatility

The Hausham Mountain Rescue Service has received high-performance equipment for its operations, which optimally meets the requirements in the alpine area:

  • DJI Matrice M350 with H30T: This drone combines high-resolution camera images with a powerful thermal imaging camera. Especially during search and rescue missions, the thermal imaging technology can provide crucial information and locate missing persons even in poor visibility conditions.

  • Zenmuse P1 with DJI D-RTK 2 Mobile Station - GNSS Reference Station: With its precision, the P1 is ideal for surveying and mapping terrain, which is particularly invaluable in the event of damage or natural disasters.

  • Mobile Ground Station: The Mobile Ground Station is a mobile traffic receiving station and is used in combination with the HOD4track Germany and a UTM license to support UAS remote pilots when flying beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

  • HOD4track: The HOD4track is an LTE transponder that makes unmanned flying objects visible to other airspace users (helicopters or UAS). The drone tracker meets all requirements for the granting of BVLOS operating licenses for UAS.

Briefing by our experts

Our colleague Torben Clausen was on site to instruct the Hausham mountain rescue team in the technology so that the new equipment can be used optimally. With practical demonstrations and targeted training, the employees were able to learn how to use the drone effectively - whether for search and rescue missions, reconnaissance or documenting damage.

More safety and efficiency in alpine terrain

The new possibilities of drone technology bring clear advantages for the work of the Hausham Mountain Rescue Service:

  • Efficient search for missing persons: The thermal imaging camera of the DJI H30T makes searching in large areas and rough terrain much easier.

  • Rapid situational awareness: Thanks to the P1 camera, detailed maps and models can be created that provide a sound basis for decision-making by the incident commander.

  • Flexible use on site: The mobile ground station allows drone operations to be controlled efficiently even under difficult conditions.

We would like to thank the Hausham mountain rescue service for their trust and look forward to continuing to develop innovative solutions for rescue operations in the future.
