Drone Training for Emergencies
The partnership between Droniq and Telekom Security is moving into its next phase: Following the first successful training sessions last year, additional hands-on training sessions were held this spring for numerous remote pilots—with a clear goal: to be able to deploy drones where they create real added value—in the field.
In just a short time, nearly 60 participants at various locations have already been trained through several training formats and prepared for real-world scenarios.
Scaling a Successful Training Program
From Certificate to Application
While the theoretical foundations and exams form the basis, the real added value becomes apparent in practical application. The training sessions are therefore consistently designed to meet the requirements of disaster response.
Among other things, the focus was on:
- Improving flying skills under realistic conditions
- Application scenarios for operational situations, such as reconnaissance or search and rescue
- Targeted use of sensor technology, particularly thermal imaging cameras
- Use of Drones to Support First Responders on the Scene
This enables participants not only to fly drones safely, but also to use them as a valuable tool for situational assessment and decision support.
This practical focus is crucial: Drones play an important role, particularly in disaster response, for example by providing real-time situational awareness or assisting in search and rescue operations
Drones as an integral part of modern operational concepts
The training sessions highlight how drone technology is increasingly becoming a standard tool—even for organizations with security responsibilities. Previous training sessions have already focused on specifically preparing emergency responders for deployment in security-critical situations and equipping them with the necessary skills for planning, controlling, and operating drones.
This expanded training series consistently builds on this approach: moving away from individual certifications toward a scalable training model for entire response teams.

The close integration of theory, testing, and hands-on training forms the foundation for long-term success. Participants benefit not only from the structured training program but, above all, from the ability to apply what they’ve learned directly in the field.
Step by step, this leads to the creation of an organization in which drones are an integral part of the operational strategy.
