Time and again, we experience private, commercial or government drones unintentionally approaching our rescue helicopters. All the more reason for us to look forward to solving this challenge with our platform.

With the current project, the DFS subsidiary Droniq is further expanding its position as a leading specialist in the use of drones by public authorities. Furthermore, the platform marks the missing building block for Droniq to make really all air traffic participants visible in the near-ground airspace in the future.

Droniq stands for visibility and safety in the lower airspace, just like we do at Dronetag. We are very excited about our partnership and proud to support Droniq's unmanned traffic management system with our remote ID solution.

Drones offer enormous potential. To exploit this, prospective drone pilots need to know how to use the drone safely. By working with Droniq and its Droniq Academy training platform, we have the opportunity to impart this know-how at Mönchengladbach Airport in order to promote the professional use of drones in our region.

When flying in urban areas, there are few things more stressful than an approaching rescue or police helicopter flying low and fast. The aerial situational awareness image provided by Droniq allows such aircraft to be perceived early, allowing you to react without time pressure. A gamechanger for professional and safe drone operations.

Particularly in areas where mobile coverage is not provided, such as over the sea, alternatives are needed to enable safe drone use. As part of the consortium, we want to use the feasibility study to create the conditions for further expanding drone use in Germany and making it even safer in the future. As Droniq, we are pleased to contribute our expertise in the interplay between unmanned aviation, manned aviation and telecommunications.

We have shown in the real lab that a U-Space can be implemented anywhere: even in such a challenging environment as the Port of Hamburg. Droniq is already U-Space ready. This underlines our claim to become Germany's first U-Space service provider.

Many commercial and government drone operations require the drone to be able to fly beyond visual range. With the start-up in Lower Saxony, we are demonstrating once again how appropriate routes can be set up and flown safely researched is exactly the right location for this, to face the challenges of coordinating different drones in the lowest airspace. Numerous flight tests and simulations were carried out as part of the project and we are now looking forward to the detailed evaluation.

To test a transport system for drones and evaluate the opportunities and challenges, the Port of Hamburg offers the best conditions. Used wisely, drones offer enormous opportunities in the most diverse areas of business and society. With the U-Space Reallabor, I see the opportunity to test potentials of a new air transport under real conditions and to actively participate in its development. That is why I am delighted with the decision of the Federal Ministry of Transport to support the project in Hamburg.

With our drone traffic system, we are very well positioned internationally and thus already have a basis for integrating drone airspace. In this way, we enable fast and uncomplicated drone operations. This is an important step in the direction of digital aviation, combined with proven safety.

In the future, the U-Space will allow the full potential of the drone to be used in urban areas within a given framework. This is a milestone for unmanned air traffic. We are proud to show for the first time what this future can look like.

Hamburg entered the drone age back in 2016. Various projects have been launched since then, involving the transport of tissue samples by drone, a control center for organizing drone traffic, or defense against non-cooperative drones at airports. Safe integration of drones has been a top priority from the beginning. The U-Space Reallabor - in close cooperation with numerous Hamburg partners - is an important milestone on the way to the regular use of drones, especially in the public interest, such as in the fire department or the transport of medical goods.
